LOS ANGELES – Memorial services will be held on Sunday in Fallbrook for two-time Cal State L.A. track and field All-American Taras Rohde, who died unexpectedly in Phoenix on July 10 at the age of 29. Rohde earned All-America honors for the Golden Eagles twice in the shot put during a splendid three-year career. He is tied for second on the Cal State L.A. all-time list in the shot put with a throw of 61-8.

MIRAMAR, FLA.  – Cal State L.A.’s Josh Como earned a silver medal in the triple jump Sunday for Team USA in the North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-23 Championships at the Miramar Ansin Sports Complex. Como was second in the event behind the University of Florida’s Christian Taylor. He had his best jump of 52-4 on his fifth attempt.

LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.’s Josh Como has been selected as a member of Team USA for the North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-23 Championships that will be held next month in Miramar, Florida. Two athletes for each event make up Team USA. Como and Christian Taylor of the University of Florida will represent Team USA in the triple jump.

LOS ANGELES -- Cal State L.A.’s men’s track and field team had some outstanding individual performances in 2010 and the Golden Eagles put together their best national finish since 1998. Led by second-place national finishes in the 100 and 200 by Damein White and a second-place finish by Josh Como in the triple jump, Cal State L.A. finished in a tie for sixth in the nation.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Cal State L.A.'s men's and women's track and field teams earned All-America honors in six more events Saturday on the final day of the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships at Irwin Belk Track Complex. Damein White was second in the 100 meters and 200, Josh Como took second in the triple jump and the 4x100 relay team was third while helping the men finish in a tie for sixth in the country. Moriah Jubrey was sixth in the 200 and seventh in the 100.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Cal State L.A.’s men’s and women’s track and field teams got off to an All-American start Friday on the second day of the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships. Tuekeha Huntley set a new Cal State L.A. record in the heptathlon with 5,126 points and finished eighth in the two-day event at the Irwin Belk Track Complex. Damein White and Moriah Jubrey qualified for the finals in the 200 meters.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Cal State L.A.’s men’s and women’s track and field teams netted one All-America award and put themselves in position for a few more Thursday in the opening day of the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships. Josh Como earned All-America honors in the long jump with a sixth-place finish and the Golden Eagles qualified for three more finals on Thursday.

NEW ORLEANS – Cal State L.A.’s Josh Como has been named the Division II West Region Field Athlete of the Year by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced on Monday. The voting was done by the division’s track and field coaches.

5.19.10 | Men's Outdoor Track and Field
LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.’s men’s and women’s track and field teams will be well represented at the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships. The championship field was announced Wednesday for the meet, which will be held on May 27-29 in Charlotte, N.C. and hosted by Johnson C. Smith University. A group of 11 Golden Eagles will be competing in a total of 16 events.
