ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Cal State L.A.'s women's indoor track and field team had a day of close calls on the opening day of competiton in the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships. Shianne Smith was ninth in the long jump and Jamilah St. Cyr was 10th in the 60-meter high hurdles in competition at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

LOS ANGELES -- Cal State L.A.'s women's tennis team is enjoying its week-long string of matches at home. The Golden Eagles posted their third straight win with an 9-0 victory over NCAA Division II West Region opponent Hawaii-Hilo Friday at the CSULA Tennis Complex. Cal State L.A. (3-4) dropped its first four matches to start the season, but has now won three contests over the past four days.

Golden Eagles Beat Mustangs For Second Straight Win

LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.’s women’s tennis team can now enjoy its first winning streak of the season. The Golden Eagles won their second straight match, defeating Western New Mexico, 9-0, Thursday at the CSULA Tennis Complex. Cal State L.A. (2-4) swept the three doubles contests and then took all six singles matches, five of them in straight sets.

Golden Eagles Beat Coyotes For First CCAA Win Of Season

LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.’s women’s tennis team got some strong play in singles and doubles and posted its first win of the 2010 season. The Golden Eagles took two of the three doubles contests and four of the six singles matches to beat Cal State San Bernardino, 6-3, Tuesday in a California Collegiate Athletic Association competition at the CSULA Tennis Complex.

Josh Como Named CCAA Track And Field Athlete Of The Week

LOS ANGELES – Cal State L.A.’s Josh Como has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Track and Field Male Athlete of the Week for the week of March 1-7, the conference announced on Monday. Como posted an NCAA Division II automatic qualifying mark of 53-00.25 in the triple jump while winning the event at the Ben Brown Invitational Saturday at Cal State Fullerton

SAN FRANCISCO -- Cal State L.A.'s baseball team used its biggest offensive output of the season to end its four-game California Collegiate Athletic Association series with San Francisco State on a positive note. The Golden Eagles got a season-high 19 hits and beat the Gators, 17-6, Sunday at Maloney Field.

Golden Eagles Post Provisional Marks At Ben Brown Meet

FULLERTON -- Cal State L.A.'s men's and women's track and field teams competed in the 2010 Ben Brown Invitational at Cal State Fullerton and the Golden Eagles recorded more NCAA Division II provisional qualifying marks. Damein White recorded a provisional mark while winning the 200 meters and the 4x100 relay team also posted a mark.

Golden Eagles Hold On For 6-5 Victory Over San Francisco St.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Cal State L.A.'s baseball team came up with enough big plays late in the game to post a California Collegiate Athletic Associaton win over San Francisco State. The Golden Eagles got a go-ahead, two-out RBI single in the seventh inning from Mario Ramirez and clutch relief pitching from Matt Stropoli and Rory Young to record a 6-5 win over the Gators Saturday at Maloney Field.

Golden Eagles Have To Settle For Split With SF State

SAN FRANCISCO -- Cal State L.A.'s baseball team had to settle for mixed results Friday in the opening day of a four-game series with San Francisco State. After escaping with a 5-4 win in the opening game of a California Collegiate Athletic Association doubleheader, the Golden Eagles managed only six hits in the nightcap and dropped a 5-1 decision.
